Terms of Service – Best Marine
1. Overview
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all work carried out by Best Marine (“we”, “us”, “our”) for clients (“you”, “your”). By engaging our services, requesting a booking, or approving work, you agree to these Terms.
2. Services Provided
Best Marine provides diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and installation services for:
- Marine vessels (including outboards and amphibious systems such as Sealegs)
- RVs, campervans, and vehicles
- Electrical, solar, hydraulic, and electronic systems
All services are provided on a best-effort, professional basis.
3. Bookings & Call-Outs
- Bookings may be made via phone, website, or email.
- Urgent or priority call-outs may incur additional fees.
- We reserve the right to reschedule due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.
4. Estimates & Pricing
- Any estimates provided are indicative only and may change once work begins.
- Additional faults discovered during diagnostics may require further approval and incur additional costs.
- All prices are in NZD and may be subject to GST unless stated otherwise.
5. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- For larger jobs, a deposit may be required before work begins.
- We reserve the right to retain possession of equipment or vessels until payment is made in full (where legally permitted).
Late payments may incur additional fees.
6. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the issue and equipment
- Ensure safe and reasonable access to the vessel or vehicle
- Disclose any known faults, prior repairs, or modifications
Failure to do so may impact timelines, costs, or outcomes.
7. Diagnostics & Repairs
- We will take reasonable care in diagnosing and repairing faults.
- Due to the nature of mechanical and electrical systems, not all issues can be identified immediately.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing faults or failures unrelated to the work performed.
8. Parts & Materials
- We may supply and install parts as required.
- Where possible, we use reliable, high-quality components.
- Manufacturer warranties apply where relevant.
We are not responsible for delays caused by parts availability.
9. Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of use, missed travel, or downtime.
- You acknowledge that marine and vehicle systems carry inherent risks, particularly in marine environments.
10. Emergency & Urgent Work
- While we prioritise urgent jobs, we do not guarantee immediate availability.
- Clients are responsible for ensuring their vessel or vehicle is safe to operate.
11. Cancellations
- We require reasonable notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Late cancellations may incur a call-out or booking fee.
12. Warranty on Workmanship
- We stand behind our workmanship and will address issues directly related to our work within a reasonable timeframe.
- This does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Misuse or improper operation
- Unrelated system failures
13. Health & Safety
- We reserve the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe.
- You must ensure the work environment complies with basic safety expectations.
14. Privacy
We collect and use your information solely for the purpose of providing services and communication. We do not share your information with third parties unless required by law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
16. Updates
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
